WILSHERE: A SEASON FOR BUILDING PLATFORMS
Although a lot of people seem to be against Wilshere; however, there is no doubt that he is held in high regards in the hearts of the vast majority of arsenal fans. We all remember that night against Barcelona in the Champions League where he produced that majestic display to show up the likes of Xavi and Iniesta.
That was the moment of his career that truly showed his potential of being named among some of the best players in the world. He was tipped for greatness along with players such as Eden Hazard and Mario Gotze. However, he hasn’t quite reached the heights that these two have as yet mainly as a result of recurring injury problems that have halted his best efforts to progress to the next stage of his career. Some Arsenal fans have become frustrated with this and with recent events being blown out of proportion by the English media, it seems like everything is against Jack.
However, lets not forget just how young he is. Beginning regular football in the Arsenal first team in the 2010-11 season, at the age of 18/19, he has now been playing in the squad for four years (missing a lot of that through injury). Despite being hampered by injury, he has managed to still develop his game and bagged 5 goals last season, equalling his previous tally since he made his debut at the age of 16. Adding goals to his game is something that won Ramsey the heart’s of Arsenal fans in the past year and is now one of the most loved and vital players at the club. Lets not forget, also, that Wilshere won the goal of the season last year for that absolute beauty against Norwich.
